About Dr. Soumyadeep Biswas
Dr. Soumyadeep Biswas is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist with extensive clinical, academic, and international training experience in child health.
He holds the prestigious qualifications of MD (Paediatrics), MRCPCH (UK), MRCP (Edinburgh), and FRCPCH (UK), and is currently the only paediatrician in Durgapur to have been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), United Kingdom. The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is the premier professional and regulatory body for paediatrics in the United Kingdom, and the Fellowship (FRCPCH) represents its highest professional honour — conferred only upon a select group of paediatricians in recognition of their advanced professional standing, contribution, and distinction in the field of paediatrics.
He is also a member of the RCPCH (UK) Examination Standards Committee. Dr. Biswas has undergone Clinical Fellowship training in Paediatrics in Cardiff, United Kingdom, and has significant expertise in the management of critically ill newborns, including extremely premature babies born at 26–28 weeks of gestation and having birth weights between 600-700 grams. News of critical patients successfully managed by him have featured in leading dailies like Anandabazar Patrika and other electronic media of the state.
His clinical interests include neonatology, newborn intensive care, childhood illnesses, growth and development, and vaccination. Alongside his clinical practice, he has played an important role in academic paediatrics and postgraduate medical education, including contributing to the establishment and development of DNB Paediatrics training programs.
He remains committed to combining evidence-based medicine with compassionate, family-centred paediatric care.
